What is Profhilo?

The first of its kind, Profhilo is a revolutionary ‘beneath the skin’ hyaluronic acid (HA) moisturising injectable treatment, made with the patented NAHYCO® technology. This results in a unique hyaluronic acid injectable gel, which has a prolonged stimulating activity on the dermal cells helping with fine lines and signs of ageing.

What are the benefits of the treatment?

When injected into skin, the Profhilo treatment stimulates the skin cell receptors to counteract skin laxity and improve and restore firmness of the skin. Containing one of the highest concentrations of hyaluronic acid on the market, Profhilo not only boosts and hydrates the skin, but also remodels ageing, works to help reduce fine lines and targets sagging tissue. The most common areas of treatment include the face and neck and can also be used for the décolletage, hands, arms, knees and abdomen area where it would effectively treat skin laxity. The treatment is suitable for men and women as well as offering skin benefits for clients of all ages.

How does Profhilo work?

As an injectable treatment, ultra-pure hyaluronic acid is precisely injected into the area being treated. Unlike wrinkle reducing and dermal filler treatments, Profhilo stimulates collagen and elastin in the skin, attracting water in the deeper layers of the skin and helping to promote anti ageing.

As a stabilised product, the activity on dermal cells will last longer than that of a non-stabilised gel. During this time the stimulation of four different types of collagen and elastin takes place by slow release of hyaluronic acid.

The stimulation results in significant tissue improvement. Therefore we cannot say that Profhilo is a skin booster, as it also has a significant tightening / lifting effect on the tissue perfect to target signs of ageing.

Which areas can be treated with Profhilo?

Profhilo is commonly used for the face but can also be used to treat the neck and hands.

For the face, each Profhilo treatment includes injecting the collagen-boosting liquid into five key points; either side of your cheeks, the nasolabial folds, laughter lines, chin and peri-oral lines, and along the jawline. Profhilo can also be used to target sagging or wrinkled skin in the neck area.

Once the Profhilo injections have delivered hydration to each treatment point, the hyaluronic acid (HA) starts to disperse evenly underneath the skin, to naturally plump, refresh and tighten the whole treatment area.

It gives deep hydration, a glow, firmness and strength to the skin with a very potent anti-ageing effect.

How long does the treatment take per session?

The treatment takes approximately 45 minutes. Profhilo treatment is not painful, but some people may feel a slight sting when the needle is injected into the skin. The treatment itself is quick and easy, and most people only need to undergo two treatment sessions in order to see results.

Who cannot have Profhilo?

Individuals with a known hypersensitivity to hyaluronic acid ha. Those who are pregnant or breastfeeding.

How many treatment sessions will I need?

We recommend a base line treatment and a second treatment 4 weeks later. After this, maintenance treatment sessions can be spaced out every 6 months to help long term effects of boosting collagen and elastin in the skin.

What is the downtime following a treatment?

Very little with mild swelling and possibly some mild bruising. This can be easily concealed with make-up after 24 hours.
