What is Thermatite Microneedling?
Thermatite is a skin rejuvenation treatment which can be used to tighten the skin and improve the appearance of scars. This process allows the skin to repair and rejuvenate itself naturally.
Which areas can be treated with Thermatite?
The treatment areas for Thermatite for the best results are:
- Wrinkles and fine lines around the eyes and mouth
- Full face rejuvenation for sun damage
- Pigmentation and enlarged pores
- Crepe neck skin and lines
With our Thermatite treatment, Dr Rory will completely tailor the treatment to individual your individual needs.
What are the benefits of Thermatite?
- It is a fast, convenient and effective procedure
- Minimal pain and discomfort
- Minimal downtime
- It can be done safely on a number of body parts, including face, neck, chest and back of hands
- It does not use any lasers or lights, so can be performed safely around the eye area
- All skin types can be treated
- The settings are adjustable in terms of the depth and length of penetration into the skin, so treatments can be tailored for each patient
- Improved skin texture and reduced pore size
What does the Thermatite treatment involve?
The treatment is performed after having the needed amount of topical numbing cream applied to the skin for 30 minutes before if requested. The treatment is very quick taking only 10-15 minutes during which you will feel a slight warm sensation.
How quickly will I see results?
Typically it takes around 4-6 weeks to see full results of your treatment to show.
What is the downtime following the treatment?
After the treatment we recommend plenty of moisturising cream over the next 3-5 days. You will be ‘sunburnt’ red after the treatment for 1-2 days and then get some flaking of the skin over 3-7 days according to the intensity of the settings. You must avoid touching the treatment area, to minimise infection. You must not rub or pick at any micro-crusts as this could cause scarring or hyperpigmentation. These micro-crusts will lift away naturally by day 10. For 24 hours after treatment you should avoid swimming, strenuous physical activity and saunas. You should also wait until the next day before applying skincare or makeup.
Average recovery time:
Sensitive skin for 24 hours, total recovery time approximately 4-5 days.
How many treatments will I need?
We recommend a course of 3-5 treatments 6-8 weeks apart in order to achieve the best outcomes.
How often are treatments recommended?
Maintenance required between 12-24 months
Who cannot have the treatment?
Thermatite treatment cannot be used while pregnant or breastfeeding. Your skin will need to be free from active tan for 3 weeks.
