What is Viscoderm?
Viscoderm Hydrobooster is a stabilized hyaluronic acid injectable product able to offer a dual function; a biological process of hydration and tissue restructuring, together with a mechanical action to stretch the most superficial wrinkles, in a precise and natural way, resulting in its unique HYDROSTRETCH action.
What are the benefits of the treatment?
1. DEEP HYDRATION
- Improving elasticity, radiance and smoothness of the skin
- Biorestructuring activity prolonged over time and safety guaranteed by the specific formula
2. SUPERFICIAL STRETCHING
- Stretching superficial wrinkles for those with moderate to advanced signs of ageing
- Particularly indicated for they dynamic areas of the face (perioral, periocular, forehead)
Which areas can be treated?
Viscoderm is particularly effective in the dynamic areas of the face, where movement is excessive and wrinkles develop easiest. These are around the eyes and temples; around the mouth; and across the forehead.
What does the treatment involve?
You can opt to have topical numbing cream applied to the skin to minimise discomfort if you would prefer. Your skin will then be cleansed and prepared for treatment. The product will then be injected to the areas being treated with a very fine needle to best minimise pain. During the procedure you may feel some discomfort but this will be tolerable and short-lived.
What is the downtime and recovery following the treatment?
Immediately after treatment your skin may be red and there may be some bruising. The treated area will feel slightly tender for a few days and there may be some mild swelling but this will resolve quickly. You will be able to continue your day as normal following your treatment. You may experience minor discomfort immediately post treatment but this will subside within 24-48 hours.
When will I see results of my treatment?
You can expect to start seeing noticeable results after two weeks and these results will continue to improve up to 8 weeks following the initial treatment.
How long do results of the treatment last and how often should I have the treatment to maintain optimum results?
Unlike other skin boosters, you do not have to have a second stage treatment to benefit from the best results. However, we recommend treatments every 6 months but this can be reduced if you feel the effects are wearing off. We are always here to help and advise.
If your lines are particularly deep, we may recommend a second treatment at 8 weeks then every 6 months to maintain best results.
Who cannot have the treatment?
- Those who have keloid scarring
- Patients with active cold sores or active infection(s)
- Anti-coagulants
- Patients who are currently pregnant or breast feeding.
